Our small but mighty business, Teddo Play, has been a true labour of love. Running a small business on your own with no prior background in actually running a business has come with its challenges – it is no mean feat!
You go from 9-5 to 24/7 and have to remain forever switched on, and all of this alongside raising a young family!
These past 4 years have been no walk in the park. It’s been a steep learning curve filled with moments of extreme joy and extreme frustrations. My business has grown slowly as I didn’t want to have regrets in the future of not making the most of these very precious years with kids so the priority has been my little man which has actually paid off as he helps me out with the business big time these days!
I have been determined with Teddo Play and it fills me up with joy and humility to share that Teddo Play has received a number of mentions in national press and media, heard from the Prime Minister’s office, been live on TV on BBC News, recognised with industry awards as being the Best in Children’s Development Products, also by the renowned entrepreneur Theo Paphitis as one of his small business winners, making my passion project a multi award-winning business in no time.

I have always believed in giving back manifolds more than taking and so I decided to acquire formal training and qualification to become an Institute of Leadership & Management Level 3 Business Mentor.
In addition to the satisfaction of being able to give back, I find the whole experience of sharing knowledge very enriching. Not only do I get the opportunity to share my learnings with others and potentially save people from making expensive mistakes, but I also get exposed to so many different businesses from different industries. I find it very interesting to learn about people’s business journeys, their mindsets, different styles of working, different strategies for growing their businesses and so on. It also fills me up with more confidence as I expand my own knowledge and cross paths with more individuals.
Being a teacher, I find it exciting and easy to drive helpful information to people. People find me approachable and knowledgeable in a number of areas and I believe in the idea of growing together so I am always helping out businesses and people in general. I have worked with university students as part of their case studies and graded projects as well as small businesses just starting out.
I offer mentorship for University students and start-ups to encourage access to entrepreneurial skills through participation in real-time projects. I also contribute to research papers, thought-leadership reports and make policy recommendations to the UK government on topics around Entrepreneurship, Education, International Trade, MSMEs and Female Entrepreneurship.
